St. Mary’s County Youth Sports Tournament Complex Study

study summary

In September 2019, Maryland Stadium Authority's (MSA) Board of Directors approved a request from the County Administrator of the St. Mary’s County Commissioners for the MSA to manage a market and economic study to determine the feasibility of developing a potential sports complex in St. Mary’s County. The proposed sports complex includes an indoor fieldhouse and multi-field outdoor complex that could accommodate youth and / or amateur leagues and tournaments. The study will be performed in up to two phases. Phase 1 will evaluate market demand for the proposed sports complex. Phase 2 will estimate potential economic and fiscal impacts at the state and county levels. St. Mary’s County has committed to fully fund the $52,000 cost of the study.
