Hiring Range: $30.00-$40.00 depending upon qualifications. State salary rules may apply for promotions and transferees.

NATURE OF WORK 
This is a contractual (part-time) position for an IP Camera Repair Technician to install, maintain and troubleshoot IP-based security cameras at the Camden Yards Sports Complex. Candidates will have flexibility in being able to schedule their work hours that will vary from approximately 8 to 24 hours weekly as need in order to complete assigned service tickets.

EXAMPLES OF WORK
The duties listed below are intended as illustrations of various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements or duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position.

  • Install, maintain and troubleshoot IP-based security video cameras and related network devices including switches, poe injectors, and media convertors.
  • Install, terminate, and test fiber and Category 5e/6 cabling in compliance with state and local codes.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on IP cameras including cleaning, repositioning, adjusting aim and focus, and updating software firmware,
  • Program, add and manage security cameras in video management system operating software.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND KEY COMPETENCIES
The following generally describes the knowledge, skills, and abilities that are required to enter the job or to be learned within a short period of time in order to successfully perform the assigned tasks.

  • Three (3) years' experience with installation, termination and testing of low voltage networks.
  • Familiarity working with basic and specialized tools, including digital multi-meters, circuit testers, termination tools (punch downs, cable pliers).
  • Able to work and operate on ladders and lifts.
  • Fiber and CAT cable terminations (field and patch panel) and testing.
  • Understanding of basic networks and LAN architecture
  • Ability to meet performance standards including attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 
Education: High school diploma

Experience: Three (3) years' experience with installation, termination and testing of low voltage networks obtained within the last five years.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Environment —Work may be performed in a standard office setting with frequent travel to worksite locations to perform project management. Employee may be required to be present indoors or outdoors in areas of extreme heat or cold. The noise level of the work environment is usually moderate but may be occasionally loud due to alarms, equipment noise, etc. Employee may be required to work extended hours including evenings and weekends.

Physical — Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in office and public area settings; to walk, stand, or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull moderate to heavy amounts of weight up to 50 pounds; to operate equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination; to work at heights up to eighty (80) feet above ground; to operate a vehicle to travel to various locations; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
