Baltimore City Public Schools Construction
Academy for College and Career Exploration at Robert Poole: 1300 W 36th Street, Baltimore, MD 21211
Project Summary: ACCE, which serves students in grades 6 to 12, is located in the Robert Poole building in Hampden. Its 2014-15 enrollment exceeds 600 students, but the building still remains significantly under capacity. Adjacent to ACCE and currently in a separate modular building, Independence School Local I High serves students in grades 9 to 12.
Renovation will preserve the character of the nearly century-old building while ensuring it can effectively house both schools, so that each will benefit from improved facilities while efficiencies and economies are gained by increasing overall building utilization.
Visit the new 21st Century School Buildings Plan website for project updates.
Note: The budget is inclusive of contingencies, phasing, design, construction, FF+E, utilities, demolition/hazmat abatement, commissioning/LEED, testing & inspection and third-party inspection.
