NATURE OF WORK
This is a contractual position responsible for performing duties as a Lobby Security Officer at the Warehouse at Camden Yards. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7:00am - 6:00pm. Selected applicants will be expected to provide unparalleled security services while exhibiting exceptional customer service and communication skills. Key duties for this position include visitor management operations including electronic check-in of visitors and making contact with the appropriate sponsor by radio, telephone, email or in person, and controlling building access by verifying employee identification and enforcing visitor screening procedures. Multiple candidates may be selected for this position.

EXAMPLES OF WORK

  • Conducting fixed and mobile security patrols
  • Monitoring building and life safety systems
  • Communicating via telephone and two-way radio
  • Monitoring access control, camera surveillance and alarm monitoring systems
  • Observing and reporting suspicious activity 
  • Enforcing building access and delivery procedures
  • Utilizing a computer, tablet or other mobile devices to maintain daily security logs, record visitor access to the building and completing incident reports.
  • Responding to all emergency situations and coordinating with city/county/State agencies as necessary
  • Conducting surveillance of property and personnel in the interests of public safety through the effective utilization of staff resources and technical adjuncts
  • Performs other duties and functions appropriate to the position as assigned and required by the security management team.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the knowledge, skills, abilities, and key competencies necessary to successfully secure the complex is qualifying.
  • Must successfully pass background screening, including criminal record checks (local, state and federal)
  • Possess a valid driver’s license

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  High School diploma or GED certification.

Experience:  One year of security experience

WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Environment- Work may be performed in a standard office. The noise level of the work environment is usually moderate but may be occasionally loud due to alarms, equipment noise, etc. Employee may be required to work overtime hours including evenings and weekends.

Physical- Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to walk, stand, or sit for prolonged periods of time; to lift up to 15lbs, to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including the use of computer keyboards; to operate a vehicle to travel to various locations; to operate and use specialized equipment; and to verbally communicate to exchange information. Work may also involve climbing ladders. 

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
